God has some Pretty stern words for His people regarding how screwed up they are, doesn't he? There's no question that God sees us, on the one hand, as a people who, collectively, are a whore and not a wife to Him -- and on the other hand, He sees us through Christ and in Christ as a spotless bride, bought for a price out of slavery and (as someone brighter than me has recently said) into family.
If that's so, do we have a right -- or even a responsibility -- to abandon the local church? Is it idolatry to exhort people, as I do almost every week, to "be with the Lord's people on the Lord's day in the Lord's house"?
I think I have a taker on this subject who thinks the American church is almost completely apostate and that people should flee from it. Stay tuned.
This is centuri0n, aka Frank Turk, who has been an internet apologist for about 10 years and has never really gained anything for himself through it but a handful of friends and a lot of ill-will. Most people, honestly, do not like to argue with him because he doesn't know how to let it go. He's a blogger of some minor note, and he's a "calvinist".
