Wow! Woops -- I forgot in which order we were asking questions, and I owe Brian a "last one" before summing up. Sorry Brian!
I can see the down-side of atheism -- I have blogged about it recently and said (in words to this effect) that atheism doesn't offer anything to people who can't get past the mid-point in Maslow's hierarchy of needs. However, let me admit that I can see upside to atheism -- particularly when it comes to people who can get past the mid-point in Maslow's hierarchy, and how they can then self-actualize (emphasis on "self"). I think atheism also has a fine view of science from a pragmatic standpoint, and it has a robust body of literature and art.
Let me ask you Brian: What would be a short list of things you would count as being beneficial or worth-while in Christian philosophy?
This is centuri0n, aka Frank Turk, who has been an internet apologist for about 10 years and has never really gained anything for himself through it but a handful of friends and a lot of ill-will. Most people, honestly, do not like to argue with him because he doesn't know how to let it go. He's a blogger of some minor note, and he's a "calvinist".
